Baby Irish Crochet Lace
This volume continues our i"1 Album How to make Irish Crochet Lace in which the directions for the different stitches of this lace have been given.
Baby Irish Crochet Lace is worked as the other but it is finer. Finer thread is used and round the sprigs which are smaller, rows of stitches with picots are usually worked instead of the filling.
Baby Irish Lace has always been very much in vogue for trim- mine babies and children's garments and also lingerie. It is also
o o o
very effective for trimming blouses and can be mixed with other kinds of lace or with embroidery.
Materials required for the

This kind of lace is absolutely different from classical Irish Lace.
It is a handsome work, and is the reproduction of old pieces. The working is not difficult. The sprigs are made separately, then joined together by a rilling of ch. and p.
Each sprig is made of a heavy and open work wheel, forming the centre with 3 flowers. The flowers usually have 5 small leaves, some only have 3. For the joining, a flower must sometimes be omitted, and sometimes a detached flower is used; you can thus work the shape you wish.
All sprigs are begun in the same way.
Over the cord wound 3 times round the handle of the crochet needle or on a very narrow net mesh, work :
/ row. — 24 d. st. worked very tightly — join the last to the 1 -' with a tight st.
2 row. — Without the cord — but leaving it underneath — 3 ch. - 1 d. st. into the 2nd nearest st. of the ring — repeat 1 1 times.
